Coi Leray Shares Alarming Message: 'Don’t Know When I’ll Be Back But I Don’t Even Want To Think About It'
After months of promoting her forthcoming debut record, 2022 HipHopDX Rising Star Coi Leray feels she has disappointed her fans and has decided to take a step back. The Cali-bred rapper took to Twitter on Tuesday (February 15) to share a semi-alarming departure message for her “trendsetters,” and ultimately announced she’s putting her career on pause for the time being.
“To all my trendsetters, I’m sorry I let you down,” she wrote. “I don’t have it in me to keep pushing. I feel like I’m brain dead. I pray that everyone continues to keep setting trends and striving. Don’t know when I’ll be back but I don’t even want to think about it. I love you for life.”

The concerning tweet comes mere days after Coi confirmed an A Boogie wit da Hoodie feature on her album, and said she can’t wait for fans to hear the project.
“Old A boogie is undefeated, I need that anger back,” tweeted a fan of the “Man In The Mirror” rapper, which led Coi to write, “He in his BAGGGGGG on my album sheesh can’t wait till y’all hear this @mustard.”
Coi’s tweet also comes a few weeks after she dropped her latest singles titled “Medicine” and “Anxiety.” The latter record dropped on January 28 and was meant as a direct response to all the harassment she’s already dealt with in 2022. Before the single’s release, she was compared to fellow female rapper DeJ Loaf on Twitter and found such comparisons hurtful. She was also a victim of body shaming in 2021 by online trolls and she had to defend herself against those attacks as well.
