YSL Rapper Strick Drops ‘Nelly Furtado’ Video
YSL’s Strick just dropped off a new song titled “Nelly Furtado,” and Nelly Furtado herself knows about it.
Before debuting the new track, Strick shared a little clip of the Grammy-award-winning singer stopping by his tour bus, which at the time was housing Future and his whole entourage.
Furtado seemed slightly overwhelmed by the encounter, but hugged it out with Strick after he told her about his new track.
While it’s nice to see a YSL signee debut new music, the comments on Strick’s latest visual mainly revolved around the recent mass arrest of his label mates. The rapper spoke about Young Thug and Gunna’s ongoing RICO case in an interview with Complex.
“I think there’s already a lot of circumstantial proof,” the rapper said about the prosecution using rap lyrics to build their case against Thugga. “It’s a constitutional right to have freedom of speech. That’s one thing that I think is clear and apparent.
“I don’t think that it should be judged based on what type of entertainment someone chooses to use it in, whether it’s an actor or whether it’s someone musically using self-expression. But yeah, I think it’s a subject that needs to be addressed a lot more.”
The last time the Atlanta rapper was heard from was in 2021 with his Strick Land debut, which sported features from Young Thug, Kid Cudi, Swae Lee, A$AP Rocky, Skepta and others. He’s currently gearing up to release The Machine, Vol. 3, but otherwise has been hard at work with Future on his “WAIT FOR U” music video and “KEEP IT BURNIN” visual.
“I’ve learned a lot from just seeing how Future handles his business and everything like that,” Strick said of the experience. “I definitely have a lot of takeaways from those moments. We share a lot of knowledge with each other. He’s one of those people that don’t hoard a lot of the information that he knows. He’s such a genuine person.”
