Killer Mike Mourns Death Of Fellow Atlanta Rapper Trouble: 'I Am Numb'

Atlanta, GA – Killer Mike is among the many Atlanta rappers mourning the death of fellow ATL native Trouble, who was fatally shot on Sunday morning (June 5). The Run The Jewels MC expressed his grief in an Instagram post alongside a photo of the 35-year-old and an eerily prophetic tweet Trouble had just shared last month.

“I called ‘White Boy D,’ he wrote in the caption. “I hated to make that call but I had too. Skoob u were a real one. Edgewood lost a Man amongst men and Atlanta will honor u always. I am numb bro. U deserved better than this. U deserved a long rich life. God bless the dead. God help the living. Love and Respect, Always.”

Trouble was at the Lake St. James apartment complex in the Conyers area when the incident took place. According to local law enforcement, Rockdale County Sheriff’s deputies responded to to the scenes after someone reported a shooting around 3:20 a.m. local time.

Officers discovered Trouble on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Although he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Police have identified 33-year-old Jamichael Jones as the murder suspect and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. They believe Jones killed Trouble with a single shot to the chest when he found him at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment.

“What we know and what I can tell you is that with Mr. Mariel Orr which is the victim was visiting a female friend at the complex and Mr. Jamichael Jones did know the female and it was a domestic situation,” Rockdale County Public Information Officer Jedidia Canty said. “I know there are a lot of people that are really upset right now about the situation.”

As of Monday (June 6), Jones has yet to be taken into custody and currently remains at-large.
