Future Sells His Publishing Catalog In Eight-Figure Deal With Influence Media Partner

Future has sold a huge chunk of his publishing catalog from between 2004 and 2020, and is walking away with a massive eight-figure payday.

Of the 612 songs in the deal, Future is said to have sold the rights to “Life Is Good” and “Jumpman” with Drake, “King’s Dead” with Kendrick Lamar, “Selfish” with Rihanna, “Low Life” with The Weeknd and “Mask Off.”

The Atlanta rapper’s catalog was sold to Influence Media Partners, who said in a statement it is “honored” to be partnering with King Pluto. A source informed Variety the final deal was in the “high eight figures.”

“I put everything into my music, and I wanted to make sure these were in good hands as I thought about the next chapter of these songs,” Future said in a statement. “I’m proud to partner up with Rene and the team at Influence Media and send a signal that this music has timeless value. My music is my art, and these songs represent some of the most precious artwork of my career.”

Rene McLean, Influence Media partner and founding advisor, added in her own statement: “Future is a cultural icon. He continues to be a blueprint for impact and success in the music industry and has reinvented music in ways that no one has ever expected.

“It is rare to find someone who moves music and culture at the same speed with his distinct vocal and melodic style. His prolific career and continued popularity more than 15 years into the game is a testament to his undeniable influence on the contemporary music and culture landscape. We’re honored to be partnered with him.”

Future’s first 16 years as an artist includes one of Hip Hop’s most iconic discographies, spanning 16 mixtapes, eight studio albums, and four collaborative projects. Six of the eight studio albums ended up going No. 1 on the Billboard 200, including FUTURE, HNDRXX, High Off Life and The WIZRD.

Future’s most recent effort I NEVER LIKED YOU, separately debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 back in May, moving 222,0000 album-equivalent units.

Aside from dropping his new album, King Pluto has been on a collaborative tear in 2022. He joined forces with SZA and DJ Khaled for the GOD DID single “Beautiful,” and recently linked up with Houston-bred rapper Lil Jairmy for his “On Me” song, taken from his new project Gas God 2.

He also gifted Real Boston Richey an FBG chain after working together on the latter’s “Bullseye 2” remix, and joined forces with Nav and EST Gee for their songs “One Time” and “Shoot It Myself.” Travis Scott additionally took to the stage at the Zouk nightclub in Las Vegas on Saturday night (September 17) and debuted a few new songs, one of which featured Future.

Future’s massive publishing catalog is also due in part to the rapper’s tireless work ethic that has become well known in Hip Hop, and Toosii said he got to experience it firsthand on Tuesday (September 19).

“I dont been in the studio with a lot of n*ggas but I don’t think nobody fw @future,” Toosii wrote on his Instagram Story. “I heard so many different flows and I’m talking all hits. work ethic different. one n*gga that really motivated me.”

Future will take the stage at Rolling Loud New York this weekend and will serve as this year’s headliner alongside A$AP Rocky and Nicki Minaj. The three-day music festival will go down September 23 – 25 at Citi Field in Queens.
