2 Chainz ushered in the weekend by dropping a new track on Friday (January 21) and finally confirmed the release date for his forthcoming record Dope Don’t Sell Itself. “Pop Music,” which features Moneybagg Yo and Beatking, is a bouncy club track perfect for the dancefloor, with Chainz calling the track “exotic” prior to its release.
“Its been a min I know, but im back with something new & exotic,” the “I’m Different” rapper wrote on Twitter.
“U know I ain’t been around this long w/o being a thinker and a constant student & teacher of the game.”

In the single’s celebratory music video, all three rappers partake in a sunny block party, vibing out on the street as women twerk and dance around them. “Pop Music” is the second single from Dope Don’t Sell Itself, which Chainz confirmed is set to drop on February 4. The 44-year-old confirmed the release date by showcasing a pair of stills with Lil Baby presumably from an upcoming music video they have in the works.
“I think it’s dope when ya know you poppin and still be humble,” Chaiz wrote on Twitter. “Thank ya WHAM !! Video fina be crazy.”

“Pop Music” follows “Million Dollars Worth of Game,” which features 42 Dugg and dropped in January. Dope Don’t Sell Itself will follow 2 Chainz’s 2020 album, So Help Me God!. The project’s announcement also came after Tity Boi dropped “Mortgage Free” in December with DJ Premier, which officially ushered in the end of a trap era for Chainz.
“This gone be my last trap album, enjoy” 2 Chainz wrote on Twitter in July 2021.
