6ix9ine Claims He Sent Bobby Shmurda $40K While He Was In Jail As He Slights Migos
Bobby Shmurda addressed the topic of snitches in the music industry during the latest episode of Akademiks’ Off the Record podcast, provoking a response from 6ix9ine. During the roughly two-hour chat, Shmurda — who did a six-year bid in prison and was released in February 2021 — matter-of-factly stated snitches are all over the industry, at least from a business perspective.
“The industry’s full of snitches, bro,” he said. “You have to work with snitches inside the industry. This is not the streets. So you think that any rapper never dealt with a snitch on the business terms? … Rappers is capping […] It’s civilians in the rap game. Any given minute [they’re] unhappy, they’re gonna tell. … You have to know that, and be aware of that. That’s why I hate when people acting stupid. … You’re civilians, you’re not in the streets selling drugs, you’re paying taxes. Like, don’t be capping to these lil n-ggas. You up in the thing with security, you ain’t doing shit illegal, n-gga.”
Always willing to toss in his two cents, 6ix9ine — one of rap’s most infamous “snitches” — hopped in Akademiks’ Instagram comment section and dragged Migos into the discussion with, “I never seen migos throw Bobby on a song while he was in jail … talk about ‘real nikkas’ but as soon as he came home they wanted to ride his wave to get hot.. I didn’t owe him nothing and I sent him 40,000 in jail after stoopid.”

Bobby Shmurda and 6ix9ine collaborated on the 2018 Dummy Boy single “STOOPID,” right around the time 6ix9ine was arrested on racketeering charges for his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. Initially facing at least 47 years behind bars, he would ultimately cooperate with the federal government for a reduced sentence. He was granted a “compassionate” release in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
But since then, there are a slew of rappers who refuse to work with the controversial rapper, including Shmurda. Speaking to VladTV in 2019, Shmurda was asked if he’d ever collaborate with 6ix9ine again to which he said, “Hell muthafuckin’ no. I don’t even want to be next to that man — I’m good. These muthafuckas would have everybody locked up. That’s why I tell these kids, too: These entertainers they just entertainers. They ain’t living that shit they be talking.”
6ix9ine recently ended his social media hiatus with the release of “GINE.” Over the past couple of weeks, he’s been back to his old ways, taunting fellow rappers such as Lil Durk and Fivio Foreign on social media.
