And1 Open Run Tour Returns To Harlem For 30th Anniversary

This August, AND1, the iconic streetwear and footwear brand turns 30. In celebration of the brand’s 30th birthday, AND1 revived their famous Open Run Tournament with a highly anticipated tour of intense streetball competitions.

The tournament kicked off in Philadelphia before heading up to Harlem’s legendary Kingdome this past Sunday (July 23). The infamous court has helped launch the careers for Rafer “Skip to my Lou” Alston, and Aaron “AO” Owens.

New York City basketball fans filled the bleachers to watch the competition including dunk contests, Queen of the Court, 5 v. 5 games, and dance contests.

Streetballers flocked to Harlem to impress the Open Run judges with their skills and tricks. The judges comprised of OG Mixtape Players: Aaron “AO” Owens, Rafer “Skip 2 My Lou” Alston, Shane “The Dribble Machine” Woney, Phillip “Hot Sauce” Champion, Jamar “The Pharmacist” Davis, and former Harlem Globetrotter Briana Green.

New York native and former NBA player, Lance Stephenson came out with his children to support. The former Indiana Pacers guard will play in Puerto Rico going forward.

Thirty years ago, AND1 launched and bridged basketball, community and street culture. Despite the brand losing popularity over the years, the Open Run Tournament appears to be a strong start to AND1’s resurgence.
