Keke Palmer Talks Coming To Terms With Her Sexuality – ‘I Want My Life To Be My Own Life’

Keke Palmer talks about her sexuality in a new interview.
While on a podcast, the 29-year-old new mom spoke on a time when decided to “explore her life” after years of suppressing her true feelings.
The Hustler’s actress told the hosts, Raven Symoné and her wife Miraand Maday, “There was a moment in my life where I was like ya know, can I be myself? The moment where you overthink sh*t.” Keke continued:
“That’s not even me, why am I overthinking this? I guess you just get to the point where I want my life to be my own life.” Keke revealed when she was 17, she “embraced her feelings,” because she kept it hidden from her family. She explained that she likes women and men, and previously said she doesn’t want to label herself, Yahoo reports.
During the podcast, Keke went on to say, “There is like an unsaid thing that can make you feel — and because I liked guys too, I was kinda like, ‘Well, we don’t have to talk about it.’ Because I like guys too, it was like that’s another extra thing that no one really has to know about. I don’t really have to live out.”
She also said when she revealed her truth, it opened up doors for love to enter her life. Keke said, “I ultimately just feel like the acceptance of that part of myself, in general, was a part of my process of being able to have love in my life.” Her family accepted her lifestyle and said they “never cared” about her sexuality. Keke went on to say:
“By the time they saw how free of a spirit I was, and whoever I wanted to date, they were like, ‘Whoever cares.’ It was never anything that was in their mind.”
In 2015, Keke caught attention with her song “I Don’t Belong To You,” where in the video she ends up with a woman. In February she welcomed her first child with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson.
They had a boy and named him Leodis Andrellton. Last month, the couple’s relationship hit a rocky road after Darius blasted Keke online after he disagreed with the outfit at Usher’s Las Vegas residency. Keke was ultimately unbothered.
It’s not clear where the relationship stands, Darius deactivated his account, then when he returned, removed all of his Keke photos.
