Big Sean has shared more info on the special edition Detroit Piston jerseys he created in partnership with Nike, calling it a “full circle” moment for him.
In a post on Instagram, Sean Don can be seen wearing the latest line of “City Edition” NBA jerseys, which were created with Nike to celebrate the heritage of each city and establish a more personal connection with the fans.
“Chef’d these jerseys up wit the @nike team n @nba for the @detroitpistons ‘City Edition’ jerseys,” Sean began. “Paying tribute to a Detroit classic ‘St. Cecilia’s’ (hence the green). The 3stars (for the 3 championships the accumulated) and that blue outline (for Detroit being a blue collar city).”
He continued: “I actually went to St. Cecilia’s for basketball camp when i was a shorty so its full circle for real. They will wear these jerseys in game for about 10 games. They also are on sale for a limited time while supplies last.”
The jerseys are currently available on the NBA website for $119.00.

The Pistons first announced the return of their retro teal-colored jerseys over the summer, and arrive after Big Sean was appointed the creative director of innovation for his hometown team in December.
“It was really something I threw out in the universe one day,” Big Sean told The Undefeated. “I mentioned it, like, man, ‘They need to give me a job!’ Talking about the Pistons, Red Wings, Tigers or Lions. I’m a huge Detroit fan. I’m ride or die with it. I’ve always said that, but especially with the Pistons. It’s crazy that it happened like this. I’m just truly grateful.”
He added: “[I’m going] to bring that feeling and that aesthetic that I grew up with in admiring the Pistons as the franchise. Not to say it’s gone anywhere, but to really think creatively on how to execute a vision. I’ll creatively come up with ideas for us to look good and have fun and, you know, to culturally put our best foot forward.”
In other Big Sean news, the Detroit rapper and Jhené Aiko announced the sex of their new baby while they were performing at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles last month.
“L.A., make some noise… make some noise for our baby boy!” Sean told the crowd while the couple performed the track “Moments.”
The former G.O.O.D. Music MC had also previously confirmed in February that a new TWENTY88 album was in the works “I’m here working on [a] new album and new TWENTY88, me and Jhené,” he said during an Instagram Live with Queen Naija. “Shit, we’ve been working on it for a little bit… It’s coming along good, though.”
