Curren$y Bigs Up Jay Electronica's 'Pilot Talk 4' Verse: 'Dude Is Out Of Control With Rap'

The ever-prolific Curren$y blessed his fans with yet another new project on Friday (December 24) with Pilot Talk 4, his latest joint effort with legendary producer Ski Beatz (JAY-Z “Dead Presidents II”).

The 10-track album marks Spitta and Ski’s first collaboration in over half a decade following their work on 2015’s Pilot Talk III. But that isn’t the only long-awaited reunion found on the record.

Pilot Talk 4 also brings together Curren$y and Jay Electronica for their first track in 11 years, with the NOLA natives trading verses on “AD6.” The pair previously teamed up alongside Yasiin Bey (f.k.a. Mos Def) on 2010’s “The Day” from the first Pilot Talk installment.

“Jay Elec back over the stove/I left home on Greyhound and came back with Hov/Project n-ggas, we worldwide now like Mr. Marcelo/New Orleans, where we still making Heaven out of the ghetto,” Jay raps over the stoned, jazzy production.

Prior to Pilot Talk 4‘s landing, Curren$y took to Twitter on Thursday night (December 23) to thank Jay Electronica for blessing his new album while heaping praise on his verse.

“J A Y E L E C T R O N I C A lost his mind … glad we’re buddies man…dude is out of control with rap,” he wrote. “Thanks for the verse man… you are a source of motivation for me man…I’ll carry this inspiration into 2022 and bring it@to the studio errrday let’s fuckin go.. #pilottalk4.”

However, some fans were disappointed to discover that Jay Electronica’s verse was missing from streaming services. According to Spitta, Jay’s verse was added to the album at the last-minute and the full version will be released for all to enjoy in the next few days.

“The Jay Elec verse got mixed and added to the album a few hours ago,” he explained. “Hopefully it makes the album at drop time…. if not it’ll show up within a few days u know how day shit go.”

He later added, “We gonna swap that A6 out Monday for y’all…. that one needs the correct mix.”

Pilot Talk 4 is Curren$y’s eight solo release of 2021 following projects such as Highest in Charge, Still Stoned on Ocean and the Regatta EP with Harry Fraud. The Jet Life captain has plenty more in store for 2022, including joint projects with legendary producers The Alchemist and Jermaine Dupri.

Meanwhile, “AD6” is the latest appearance this year from the otherwise elusive Jay Electronica, who also made cameos on Kanye West’s Donda, Westside Gunn’s Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B, Russ’ CHOMP 2 and IDK’s USEE4YOURSELF.
