Drake Brings Mother to Tears During Touching Onstage NYC Moment

Last week, Drake praised his mother during a heartwarming performance, bringing her to tears during one of his NYC shows. According to reports, Drake sat adjacent to his mother on a couch while performing “Look What You’ve Done” in the course of his second scheduled night at Madison Square Garden. Featured on his 2011 album Take Care, the song is devoted to his mother. Drake raps, “They love your son, man, that boy gone/ You get the operation you dreamed of/ And I finally send you to Rome/ And get to make good on my promise/ It all worked out, girl, we should’ve known/ ‘Cause you deserve it.” Shortly after, Drake and his mom, Sandi Graham, warmly hugged each other, inducing applause from the audience.

During previous shows on the “It’s All a Blur Tour,” Drake was seated on the couch with a younger version of himself. Brooklyn Cox, a teenage Texas native, performed the Drake impersonation, according to Complex. Nonetheless, “Look What You’ve Done” isn’t the only song for Drake’s mother. On his 2018 project, Scorpion, his song “Sandra’s Rose” was also in honor of her.

Last summer, Drake tattooed his mom’s initials “SG” under his left eye, showing even more unconditional love towards her. Additionally, the rapper dedicated the Certified Lover Boy Nike Air Force 1s to her as well, with the words “love you forever” written on the midsole of the shoes. Drake will be playing his last show at MSG on July 26. Subsequently, he will perform two shows on July 28 and 29 in Washington, D.C.
