In recent reports, The It’s All a Blur Tour received an explosive amount of success at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center for its second night in a row, where he was spotted backstage cuddling up with the “Pound Town” artist. In a social media post, Drake is seen passionately kissing the St. Louis native’s cheek and placing his arm around her. Notably, it appears that Sexyy is also matching Drake’s energy by grasping his face in the post. He shared the post on Instagram Stories and referenced her as his “rightful wife.”
“Just met my rightful wife @sexyyred,” the artist said prior to a recently deleted post: “If my girl see ya’ll backstage being thirsty it’s gonna get smokey.” Additionally, Sexyy posted the flic with the caption, “I’m yo favorite rapper favorite rapper.” Reportedly, the intimacy went beyond just backstage. Drizzy and Sexyy posted a photo of Drake kissing her on stage in the midst of the performance.
Earlier this year, Sexyy Red received viral success from her Tay-Keith produced banger “Pound Town,” which blew up all over TikTok sparking the #PoundTownChallenge. The smash hit even caught the eye of Nicki Minaj, who subsequently hopped on the remix, giving Sexyy her first song on the Billboard Hot 100. In June, she released her debut project, Hood Hottest Princess, which contained another major hit, “SkeeYee”, also produced by Tay-Keith.
Although Sexyy has received rampant success lately, her rise to fame hasn’t come without an abundance of controversy. She’s reported to have encountered a plethora of reprisals for an “inappropriate” performance at a high school. Critics deemed the performance that way due to its highly sexual lyrics, making gang signs with her hands, and holding up her middle finger as she proceeded with her performance for high school students. Sexyy responded to the backlash in a tweet, saying, “Y’all do know I went there to give the boys money for they haircuts and girls bundles for prom week cause I remember when I needed help with my prom stuff.” As for Drake and Sexyy’s relationship status, it’s currently unclear where they stand, but their recent interactions definitely spark the question: are Drake and Sexyy Red a new couple?
