JAY-Z Gives DJ Khaled's 'God Did' Album His Stamp Of Approval

Miami, FL – DJ Khaled has to let some of his friends hear his new album God Did before he puts it out to the world, and JAY-Z is one of the very few people with access to that.

On Thursday (July 21), the We The Best boss took to Instagram with clips of him chopping it up with Hov in his Miami home. Hov puffed on a cigar while Khaled played him the album, and it looked like he was feeling what he was hearing.

“They didn’t believe in us, HOV DID And when HOV believes, more HISTORY is made. #GODDID,” Khaled captioned his post. “Thank you my brother for everything you do for US!! HOV DID!! ALBUM ALMOST DONE !!!!!!!!!!! @wethebestmusic @rocnation.”

DJ Khaled and JAY-Z have collaborated a handful of times over the years, including on “We Got the Keys,” “They Don’t Love You No More” and “Sorry Not Sorry,” so there may be room for another one on God Did.

One person who has yet to get in the booth with Hov, though, is A Boogie wit da Hoodie. The Bronx native caught wind of the Miami link up between Khaled and Hov and put his collaboration dreams in the air. “Somebody tell Hov I need him on the album,” he wrote in an Instagram Story.

Fans wanting new music from JAY-Z may have to rely on his guest features for the time being. During a recent interview with Kevin Hart, the Roc Nation mogul revealed he has no plans to make a new album right now, although he made clear he isn’t retiring just yet.

“I’m not actively making music or making an album or have plans to make an album, but I never want to say that I’m retired,” he said. “It’s a gift, so who am I to shut it off? And it may have a different form or interpretation. Maybe it’s not an album, maybe it is. I have no idea, but I’m just going to leave it open.”

God Did, DJ Khaled’s 13th studio album, is due out later this year and is likely to feature a typically star-studded supporting cast. Drake, Kanye West, Future, Lil Baby and 21 Savage are among the many big names he’s hit the studio with in recent months.
