JT Reacts To City Girls Snub On 'Top 50 Greatest Female Rappers Of All Time' List

Regardless of who’s in the running, any listicle ranking rap artists always causes some backlash when a fan’s favorite lyricist doesn’t make the cut. But JT of City Girls felt particularly disrespected when the Miami duo wasn’t included on the latest viral top 50 listicle celebrating women in Hip Hop.

The list in question — dubbed the “Top 50 Greatest Female Rappers of All Time” — featured Nicki Minaj in the top spot, followed by Lil Kim, Missy Elliot, Queen Latifah and Lauryn Hill. Further down were names like Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, Young MA, Iggy Azalea and Lizzo.

“Where the city girls?” JT wrote on Twitter in response to the list. “I guess we sing! Could’ve least put us #50.”

JT is often quick to push back at disrespect online. She recently went after a troll who criticized her for hopping on a drill beat with Fivio Foreign for the City Girls’ latest single “Top Notch.” The Twitter user in question wrote and deleted a comment that read, “So everyone just doing drill now?”

“Y’all hoes shut up n-ggas make the same type music all them time,” JT wrote. “Bitches hopping on drill beats & yall in a frenzy trying to create wars! Listen or don’t listen matter fact get off here & go wash yours walls, both of them!!!”

JT isn’t the only rapper in 2022 who has felt snubbed by these viral listicles. The Game recently felt equally as scorned when he was left off a top 50 list curated by Ebro Darden, Funk Flex and T.I. in January.

“@oldmanebro @funkflex & @troubleman31…… I ain’t forgot about these lists…,” The Game wrote in the caption before plugging in his upcoming Hit-Boy produced project. “#DRILLMATIC coming soon…. HURRICANE GAME LIVES y’all shoulda just threw my baby mamas in there too !!!!”
