Kendrick Lamar Fans Convinced New Album Arrives This Week Following Snippet Leaks
Kendrick Lamar was a trending Twitter topic on Wednesday (October 20) after several alleged album snippets leaked online. One song in particular, “Therapy Session #9,” was widely circulated, while eagle-eyed fans noticed Kendrick’s Spotify profile photo was also briefly changed.
Fans believe K. Dot’s album rollout could begin as early as Friday (October 22), which just happens to be the ninth anniversary of good kid, m.A.A.d city. As one pointed out, there are several other clues that appear to signal the DAMN. follow-up is right around the corner.

In addition to the leaks, Kendrick has a performance coming up at the Day N Vegas Fest next month, and he’ll also join Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige for the Super Bowl LVI Pepsi halftime show on February 13.
Basically, the typically elusive rapper is no longer going to be hiding under a rock. Aside from an appearance on Baby Keem’s debut album, The Melodic Blue, the Pulitzer Prize-winning artist has laid relatively low.

In August, Kendrick Lamar revealed his next album will be his last for Top Dawg Entertainment via Instagram, writing in part, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood.
“May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.”
Then in September, Akademiks shared a post showing Kendrick and his team had supposedly registered at least 32 song titles with ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers), an organization that protects artists’ musical copyrights.
Song titles include previously unheard tracks such as “Before The Hangman’s Noose,” “Director,” “Believe,” “Blow Ya Mind,” Feel For You,” “End of the Line,” “Erika Kane,” “Driving Down The Darkness,” “Lesson Learned,” “Living My Life” and “Hood Love.”
It’s been over four years since DAMN., so perhaps the album is finally imminent. After all, the “Aftermath Takeover” is supposed to kick off with Snoop’s next album, The Algorithm, on November 12.
The West Coast rap legend announced the project on his 50th birthday with the first single and video from Mt. Rushmore, “Big Subwoofer,” featuring Ice Cube, Too $hort and E-40.
