Plies Calls On U.S. Govt. To Provide Florida Hurricane Relief Following $15B Ukraine Aid
Plies has something to say to the US government and the relief that’s needed in Florida after Hurricane Ian passed through the state and caused damage.
The Florida native took to his Twitter on Wednesday (September 28) to ask the government to help those in need in Florida. He knows it can happen because the United States sent over $15 billion to Ukraine in their war against Russia.
“Dear America: If We Can Give Ukraine & Ukrainians Over $15.2 Billion To Fight A War,” Plies began the tweet. “It’s No Way In Hell Any Americans Needing Assistant After Hurricane Ian Should Go Without. U Politicians Ask Us For Our Votes Not Ukrainians!!”
He added: “Wanna Send My Love & Best Wishes To Everyone In Florida Hope We All Get Thru It Safe!!!! #ImInItWithU.”

Hurricane Ian made landfall on Wednesday afternoon in southwest Florida with a combination of strong winds, heavy rainfall and storm surges ravaging various parts of the state. There have already been a dozen deaths, flooded homes and cutoff roadways. And if the situation couldn’t get any worse, millions of people woke up to no power on Thursday (September 29).
“This could be the deadliest hurricane in Florida’s history,” President Joe Biden said on Thursday. “The numbers are still unclear, but we’re hearing early reports of what may be substantial loss of life.”
According to the National Hurricane Center, Ian has since been downgraded to a tropical storm but is expected to strengthen to a Category 1 hurricane once it makes its second landfall in South Carolina on Friday (September 30).
This is the first time that Plies has spoken his mind about something. Earlier this month, the “Bust It Baby” rapper took to his Twitter with a message for club owners and promoters regarding bottle service etiquette.
“Dear Club Promoter’s & Club Owners,” he wrote. “Please DO NOT Send Me Bottles With Sparkle’s On It & That Big Azz Lit Up Sign With My Name On It (To My Section). That’s For N*ggaz Who Just Started Getting Money!!! I Been Graduated From That!! Thanks In Advance.”
Plies reposted the message on Instagram, where Rihanna popped up in the comments section and co-signed the public service announcement with a series of clapping emojis, which has received thousands of likes.
