RZA Resurrects Bobby Digital Alter Ego With Graphic Novel, Soundtrack + First Single 'We Push'

RZA has resurrected his Bobby Digital alter ego for a new graphic novel and accompanying soundtrack called RZA Presents: Bobby Digital and The Pit of Snakes. To coincide with the announcement, Wu-Tang Clan’s de facto leader has shared the first single from the project “We Push.”

Boasting additional production from Stone Mecca, the track was co-produced by RZA and comes with a visualizer featuring artwork from the graphic novel.

The eight-song soundtrack will arrive via 36 Chambers ALC/MRNK with Hip Hop, indie rock and soul woven throughout in an effort to complement and highlight the storyline of the graphic novel.

“The character Bobby Digital getting his first official first graphic novel is a long-overdue achievement,” RZA said in a press release. “Growing up as an avid comic reader, it’s an honor to add my creativity to this amazing platform of storytelling. Z2 Comics understands that music artists resonate in the comic book/graphic novel world and this relationship is destined to grow.”

The graphic novel, RZA Presents: Bobby Digital and The Pit of Snakes, will be released on July 22 via Z2 Comics.

As for other endeavors, RZA is included on Logic’s forthcoming album Vinyl Days, which also features The Game, RZA, DJ Premier, Royce Da 5’9, Action Bronson, Curren$y, Russ, Blu and AZ. Logic has served delivered six singles from the 30-track behemoth so far, including “Decades,” “Tetris,” “Therapy Music” featuring Russ, “Vinyl Days” with DJ Premier, the Like, Blu and Exile-assisted “Orville” and “Bleed It.” He’s also shared a snippet of the aptly-titled “Breath Control.” The project is expected to arrive on July 17.
