The Wrap Up with L’Orèal Luchi, keeping you informed on everything that happened in hip-hop culture this week:

Carlee Russell:

Authorities exposed some red flags regarding Carlee’s abduction story. The 25-year-old woman told police she was driving in Alabama on a highway and saw a toddler walking on the side of the road. While checking on the child she claims she was kidnapped, but police listed reasons why they believe her story was a hoax. Her parents believe their daughter’s abductor is “still out there.”

G Herbo:

Earlier this week, G Herbo was facing 20 years after pleading guilty in Massachusetts to federal wire fraud charges. Herb was indicted two years ago, and a plea hearing is scheduled for later this month. It’s possible he will serve five years in the latest update.

Nipsey Hussle:

Nipsey Hussle’s ex, Tanisha Foster is accused of withholding evidence in the legal battle over guardianship of the late rapper’s daughter, Emani Asghedom. An attorney representing Emani is demanding that Tanisha share a recording of a conversation between him and Emani. After Nipsey died in 2019, Tanisha agreed to allow Nipsey’s family to have custody of Emani, but later on, Tanisha changed her mind.

2Pac:

Tupac Shakur’s unsolved murder received a major break in the case after nearly 30 years. Las Vegas police searched a home in Henderson, Nevada, in connection with the slaying of the “Hail Mary” rapper. Since Nevada doesn’t have a statute of limitations for prosecuting homicide cases, hopefully, Justice finds Tupac.

Jay Z:

Jay Z made history as the first Black male artist to have at least 10 solo studio albums reach double-platinum certification. The Roc Nation CEO also leads the pack when it comes to charting. He topped the Billboard 200 14 times throughout his career. He currently has an exhibit at the Brooklyn library, The Book Of Hov, where it’s filled with tons of Sean Carter memorabilia and they covered it with Jay Z lyrics.
