YG, J. Cole & Moneybagg Yo Pull Off Bank Heist In 'Scared Money' Video
YG kickstarted the campaign for his upcoming sixth album on Friday (February 4) with the release of his new single “Scared Money” featuring J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo.
Powered by menacing, piano-laced production from Gibbo, the track finds the trio reinforcing the famous “scared money don’t make no money” proverb as quoted throughout Hip Hop history by A Tribe Called Quest, Jeezy, N.O.R.E. and many more.
The heavyweight collaboration comes complete with a creative video directed by Drew Kirsch, which follows YG, Cole and Moneybagg as they pull off a bank heist.

Fans see the Compton rapper posted on the roof of an armored truck next to the fruits of their score, mobbing it up with a crew of masked bank robbers and surrounded by dozens of pairs of his 4Hunnid “Block Runner” sneakers laid out in a circular formation as he raps, “YG think he Kanye West, he got his own kicks.”
J. Cole enters the fray via a Dreamville-themed press conference before helping YG empty the bank vault as he flips YG’s aforementioned Kanye line into a Drake name-drop. “Cole think he Drizzy Drake, he got his own plane,” he raps.
Moneybagg Yo caps off the big-money crime by enjoying a lavish feast with a table full of lady friends.
“Scared Money” arrives on the heels of serious allegations levied against YG, who is accused of orchestrating Drakeo The Ruler’s murder at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival in December 2021.
Both Drakeo’s mother and associate K7 have pointed the finger at the Compton native for setting up the fatal stabbing. However, as the $60 million wrongful death lawsuit filed against Live Nation on behalf of Drakeo’s five-year-old son states, “there is no evidence to indicate that YG had anything to do with the events that would lead to Mr. Caldwell’s murder.”
Meanwhile, “Scared Money” is J. Cole‘s second cameo of the year following Benny The Butcher’s “Johnny P’s Caddy,” on which the Dreamville founder — who might be gearing up for another guest feature run — declared himself the “best rapper alive.”
As for Moneybagg Yo, the Memphis native continues to build momentum for what’s shaping up to be another big year. In addition to working on Kanye West’s Donda 2 (out February 22), he’s aiming to match 50 Cent’s $100 million success in the beverage industry by launching his own water brand.
