YSL affiliate, PeeWee Roscoe, was arrested after being on the run since May last year.

Born, Jimmy Winfrey was apprehended by Las Vegas police on July 10. He was charged with battery and using a fake ID to evade justice. Rolling Stone reports according to police records, he was arrested on an outstanding warrant from another state. It’s not clear which state, “but it’s safe to assume that he will soon be extradited to Georgia,” to face four YSL indictment charges, the publication wrote.

Winfrey’s arrest is pivotal in the RICO trial because he’s connected to a key part: the 2015 shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus. It happened on I 285 outside of Atlanta.

Winfrey, Thug’s tour manager at the time, reportedly got into an argument with Wayne who was performing that night. The argument led to Winfrey getting kicked out of the venue, and “police claimed to have then observed Winfrey in a white Camaro with an assault rifle, and said that he fled when they tried to apprehend them.”

Winfrey reportedly shot up Weezy’s tour bus after ATL police escorts left. The buses sustained $20 K in damages and no one was hurt.

In 2018 Winfrey pled guilty to six of 27 charges. Winfrey was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of probation. HNHH reports in 2020, Winfrey was released “due to efforts to lower prison populations during the early days of the pandemic.” However, he’s expected to face re-trial and re-sentencing for the shooting charges.

Thug and his mentor Birdman were named as co-conspirators in the shooting, but, neither were charged in the incident. With Winfrey’s arrest, the shooting comes into focus again as a “potential worry” for Young Thug.

The “Hot” rapper was recently denied bond for the fourth time. Last year, Thug, Gunna, and dozens of YSL members were hit with a 56-count gang and racketeering indictment. Thug is also accused of being the “ringleader” of YSL “the gang.”

Gunna struck a plea deal and was released, along with a few other members. The trial was supposed to begin in January but it was met with multiple delays, like jury selection, which is still in progress.
