Women of Watts and Beyond proudly announces its participation in the BET Awards Weekend Events. The organization will host its 20th Annual “Stop The Violence” march at 1827 East 103rd Street Los Angeles, CA 90002 on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Led by esteemed community activist Lydia Friend, Women of Watts and Beyond has been tirelessly working to end violence and foster positive change in the Watts community since 2003. The organization provides support, mentorship, and raises awareness through various initiatives, benefiting the residents of Watts.
The event will feature Pastor E Hamilton as the MC, with esteemed special invited guests, including Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, Councilmember Tim McOsker, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Janice Haun, Assemblymember Mike Gipson, Congressman Brad Sherman, and many more distinguished individuals. Mayor Karen Bass and Maxine Waters, joining in solidarity against violence. Performances by artists such as SKG, Hazel Love, and Tee Tee Zhane, among others.
Former Death Row Records Artist SKG, also known as Helecia Choyce, serves as a crucial brand ambassador for Women of Watts and Beyond. Through her influential voice and platform, she actively raises awareness and fosters positive change within the community.
Adding excitement, BreakBoards Sport LLC Games will host a breakboard contest with thrilling giveaways, and attendees can enjoy food, water, and other giveaways.
