Kim Kardashian Says Counseling Can’t Save Marriage to Kanye West

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s marriage appears to be beyond saving.

Just days after filing documents to declare herself legally single, the beauty mogul has revealed that no counseling or reconciliation efforts will be able to repair her marriage to West.

“Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [West] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down,” Kardashian states in new court documents, obtained by Page Six. “No counseling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time.”

Kardashian goes on to say that she “has no desire to reconcile with [West] and wants their marriage terminated.”

“Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means,” she explains. “The continued maintenance of technical marital status between [West] and [Kardashian] serves no useful purpose, and there is no reason to maintain the legal relationship.”

Kim says she has attempted to end the marriage for a while, but Kanye has not responded. “I have been attempting to settle our dissolution with [Kanye] since I filed for divorce in February 2021,” she says. “I have requested several times that [Kanye] agree to bifurcate and terminate our marital status. [He] has not responded to my request.”

Adds Kim, “[Kanye] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives. Therefore, I am asking that my request to bifurcate and terminate our marital status be granted.”

On Friday, Kim asked a judge to be legally single while she and Kanye work out their divorce, including child custody and property matters. She is also seeking to drop “West” from her last name and restore her maiden name.

This comes as Kanye continues to plead for his wife’s return. While performing “Runaway” during his concert with Drake at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum last week, he told her to “run back to me.” Kim was in attendance at the concert, along with their kids North and Saint.
