Nick Cannon’s Talk Show Canceled

Nick Cannon is going off the air.

The multi-hyphenate’s daytime talk show, “The Nick Cannon Show,” has reportedly been canceled after just six months.

According to Page Six, the staff at the nationally-syndicated show is already looking for new work “because the outlook seemed bleak for the struggling show.”

Cannon landed his own talk show in 2020 after impressing producers when he filled in for Wendy Williams during her absence. “The Nick Cannon Show” debuted on Sept. 27, 2021, but the show failed to gain ratings traction. Viewership was 400,000 a day for his first week on air, making it the lowest-rated talk show at the time. However, Cannon is expected to finish out the rest of the season.

A representative for the show’s production company Debmar-Mercury told The Sun “no comment” when asked about the show’s cancelation.

Jennifer Hudson is developing her own talk show, “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” that will reportedly take the place of Cannon’s program.

“Jennifer’s new deal with Fox had yet to be an announced time slot. Not many people have been told yet, but her show is expected to get Nick’s time slot,” said a source.

Nick has plenty of other jobs including host of Fox’s hit competition series “The Masked Singer,” which debuted to record-breaking ratings in 2019. He also hosts the long-running sketch comedy series “Wild ‘N Out” on VH1. Plus, he recently returned to radio with a show on New York’s 94.7 The Block.
