Rod Wave Arrested for Battery by Strangulation
Rod Wave has been arrested on a domestic violence charge.
The 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was taken into custody on a warrant for domestic battery by strangulation, a spokesperson for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office told the Tampa Bay Times.
According to his arrest affidavit, police arrested Green during a traffic stop in St. Petersburg, Fla. on Sunday night (May 1). He was riding in the passenger seat of his 2021 Grey Dodge Durango, and was identified by his driver’s license photo.

He was booked into Pinellas County Jail shortly after midnight. Green appeared to document the moment he was pulled over while driving in St. Petersburg. In one Instagram Story, police lights appear to flash behind him.
Battery by strangulation is a third-degree felony carrying a maximum sentence of five years behind bars, five years of probation, and a $5,000 fine in the state of Florida, reports Complex.
