DMX’s Family Rushes to His Side After Drug Overdose

DMX’s family is rushing to his side as he remains hospitalized in grave condition.

On Friday, the Yonkers rap icon suffered a heart attack brought on by a drug overdose. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently in critical condition.

As he battles for his life, TMZ reports that DMX’s kids have flown into White Plains, New York, and arrived at the hospital. Due to COVID regulations, his children will only be allowed to see him one at a time. His fiancee, Desiree, and his mother have already paid him a visit. X has 15 children and the good majority will reportedly be allowed into the ICU to see him.

His prognosis is not looking good, according to family members. There is little brain activity as he remains on life support, while another source said he is in a “vegetative state.” Paramedics reportedly tried to resuscitate him, but the lack of oxygen severely impacted his brain.

X’s friends and fans are holding onto hope and praying for his recovery. The Ruff Ryders biker gang rolled up to White Plains Hospital on Easter Sunday to show their support for the 50-year-old rapper, while hospital staff members also held their own small vigil.

On Monday, X’s family and friends are holding a prayer vigil outside the hospital at 5 p.m. ET and fans are welcome to join. “You’re all invited,” said Swizz Beatz. “He always prayed for you.”
