Nicki Minaj Offered Call With The White House Following COVID-19 Vaccine Debacle
Nicki Minaj sparked a giant Twitter debate on the COVID-19 vaccine earlier this week that bled onto national news channels and numerous online publications.
On Monday (September 13), the multi-platinum rapper revealed she wouldn’t be attending the 2021 Met Gala because proof of vaccination was required for entry, and she wanted to do more “research” before she felt comfortable enough getting one.
She also claimed a friend of her Trinidadian cousin got the vaccine, which he believed caused his testicles to swell. Of course, that led to an onslaught of jokes that even made it to The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
But according to CNN anchor Don Lemon, the White House was more than willing to educate Nicki on the vaccine. On Wednesday (September 15), Lemon tweeted, “A source tells CNN that @NICKIMINAJ was offered a conversation with a doctor to clarify the efficacy and side effects of the vaccine not a visit to the White House. A White House statement is coming shortly.”

Lemon followed up with, “A White House official tells @cnn’s Jeff Zeleny that ‘As we have with others, we offered a call with Nicki Minaj and one of our doctors to answer questions she has about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine.’”

Nicki Minaj appeared wildly offended her beliefs were being challenged online and wound up getting slamming television host Joy-Ann Reid who she thought took her words out of context.
“A lying homophobic coon I guess I can join in the reindeer games too right,” she tweeted. “Ppl can go on tv & lie on me, I can report on them, too right? Doesn’t have to be truths. It can be half truths. Uncle Tomiana asked who on earth would trust the US FDA guys… @JoyAnnReid.”
She later added, “This is what happens when you’re so thirsty to down another black woman (by the request of the white man), that you didn’t bother to read all my tweets. ‘My God SISTER do better’ imagine getting ur dumb ass on tv a min after a tweet to spread a false narrative about a black woman.”
Reid initially slammed Nicki for using her massive platform to “not encourage” the Black community to protect themselves from COVID-19.
Nicki has yet to publicly reply to the White House’s offer.
