Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Cardi B + More Among 2022 MTV VMAs Nominees

The nominees for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards were announced on Tuesday (July 26), with Hip Hop once again dominating proceedings.

Kendrick Lamar, Jack Harlow and Lil Nas X lead all artists with seven nominations each, followed by Doja Cat with six nods. Drake and The Weeknd are both up for five awards, while Cardi B, Future and Baby Keem have four nods.

Other nominees include Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby, Pusha T, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, JID, Doechii, SZA and Latto.

The 2022 MTV VMAs take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Sunday, August 28. The awards show will air live on MTV and the CW Network from 8 p.m. ET.

Beginning Tuesday, fans can vote here for their favorite nominees across the 22 categories, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year and Song of the Year. Voting closes on Friday, August 19.

Last year’s VMAs saw performances from the likes of Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, Latto, Busta Rhymes and Doja Cat, the latter of whom also hosted the event.

Lil Nas X won Video of the Year for “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” while Travis Scott, Young Thug and M.I.A. took home Best Hip Hop Video for “Franchise.”
