The 48th season of SNL is slated to look much different than previous seasons after a slew of cast members recently exited the late-night show. Some of the departures include Pete Davidson, Chris Redd, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Kyle Mooney, Melissa Villaseñor, Aristotle Athari and Alex Moffat.
“Five years ago, I walked into 30 Rock knowing that this was an amazing opportunity for growth. Now, with friends who have become family and memories I will cherish forever, I’m grateful to [creator] Lorne Michaels and to the entire SNL organization,” Redd said. “From the bottom of my heart, I can’t thank you all enough.”
Megan Thee Stallion is coming off the release of her Traumazine album, which bowed in at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 with 66,000 total album-equivalent units sold and marks her fifth consecutive Top 10 placement on the albums chart.
Earlier this month, Meg also made her twerking MCU debut in the third episode of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Thee Stallion stole the show in a post-credits scene twerking alongside Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) while her “Body” hit booms through the room’s speakers.
As for Kendrick Lamar, his Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album became the first rap project in 2022 to surpass one billion streams on Spotify.
He recently wrapped up the U.S. leg of his The Big Steppers Tour and will head overseas to Europe shortly after his SNL performance in October.
