Meanwhile, a male shooting victim was discovered close to the scene and taken to a medical facility in a private vehicle. The HPD said the two individuals — believed to be in their early twenties — suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
“We don’t have any information about motive at this time. It could be road rage,” HPD Assistant Chief Wyatt Martin said in a statement on Saturday (September 24). “It could have been robbery. We just don’t know, and we don’t have enough information at this time to make a determination.”
So far, the HPD hasn’t named any suspects but continues to investigate. As for Lil Uzi Vert, they have yet to comment publicly on Lotta Cash Desto’s death despite their close bond.
Lil Uzi regularly referred to the Memphis native as their “sister” and “twin.” Lotta Cash Desto only recently relocated to Houston where she celebrated a birthday on September 12.
The news comes just hours after it was reported that BFG Straap, a 22-year-old rising rapper from Dallas, was shot and killed along with another man in South Dallas earlier this week.
Known for the singles “GANG MEMBER,” “Everyday 420” and “I’m Good,” Straap (real name Antywon Dillard) and 26-year-old Cory Lucien were gunned down on Thursday (September 22) along Casey Street near Malcolm X Boulevard, according to local affiliate Fox 4 News.
Lucien died at the scene, while Strapp was transported to a local hospital where he died later. No arrests have been made in the killings.
