Famous Dex Reportedly Enters Drug Rehab Straight From Jail

Los Angeles, CA – Famous Dex was reportedly released from Los Angeles County jail last week and is already back in rehab.

According to TMZ, the seemingly troubled rapper is attempting to quell his raging drug addiction, which has plagued him for years.

Sources close to Dex reportedly said he’s currently in a rehab facility for his “overall wellness and to get himself right for the world again.”

Dex landed behind bars in January and again in June for violating a protective order from his ex-girlfriend.

This serves as Famous Dex’s second attempt at getting clean. In December 2020, he voluntarily checked himself in to a rehab facility after publicly denying he had a drug problem.

Taking to Instagram Live at the time, Dex struggled to properly articulate what he was attempting to say, sparking concern among his fans.

“Hey fam, I really don’t need you to be saying shit like this, bro,” he said “Let me tell you something, I want to address this to everybody that’s listening to me. Stop worrying the next muthafucka that’s doing drugs [inaudible]. The world on drugs, you know what I’m sayin’? I used to love doing whatever.

“I got money, I can do whatever the fuck I wanna do. Goofy ass bitch. Fuck you worried about me for? And two, I don’t do none of that shit, n-gga. I smoke weed and take care of my kids. What the fuck is wrong with you?”

Although his fans were concerned about his well-being, Dex appeared to be serious about getting help. Shortly after his release, however, he appeared to be under the influence in another Instagram video.

Dex’s legal troubles also ramped up. In June 2021, he was arrested in connection to an October 2020 domestic violence charge. Similar to many of his arrests, he was slapped with multiple charges, including corporal injury domestic violence, threatening a domestic partner, exhibiting a firearm, inflicting bodily injury, dissuading a victim from reporting a crime, defacing property and illegal possession of a firearm.

But a year later, things were looking up for Dex. On June 1, he tweeted about his progress, writing: “I’m 5 months sober God is good.”

HipHopDX wishes Famous Dex success on his journey.
