The Weeknd Flies Out 6-Year-Old Fan To Philadelphia Tour Opener Following Postponed Toronto Show
Philadelphia, PA – A 6-year-old boy was heartbroken after finding out the Toronto stop on The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour was canceled due to a power outage. A photo of the upset boy named Phoenix Prince taken outside the Rogers Centre rocking Abel’s signature red suit jacket went viral on social media and eventually landed on the Toronto superstar’s radar.
“We had a breakdown moment,” Phoenix’s father, Blake, told CBC of the viral photograph. “He got upset over the fact the show was postponed and somebody captured a picture.”
The Weeknd decided to make it up to Phoenix and his father by flying them out to the new opening date of the tour in Philadelphia taking place at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night (July 14).

The “Blinding Lights” singer and his team rolled out the red carpet for Phoenix and his father and gave them the full VIP experience for Thursday night’s concert. Phoenix even got to meet The Weeknd and had his red suit jacket autographed.
“I wouldn’t be able to put this last week into words if I tried,” Phoenix’s father captioned the post on Instagram highlighting their day. “We are forever grateful for this moment in time. We are beyond thankful to Abel and his beautiful crew for their friendship, hospitality, generosity and for spending day with Phoenix and I today. He will cherish this experience forever. Thank you a million times over. xo.”
