Smith’s attorney, Michael Scholl, claimed he has more evidence that will perhaps convince a judge to grant bond to his client. Smith’s family and friends are aksi expected to speak on his behalf during the July 1 hearing.
“We are receiving more information and I want to take a look at that,” Scholl said. “One of the factors that goes into the bond is likelihood of conviction. Other factors are flight risk.”
Young Dolph was fatally shot in November 2021 as he was picking up baked goods from Makeda’s Homemade Cookies. Dolph was in his hometown for the annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway at St. James Missionary Baptist Church when the shooting incident took place. The West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center revealed the popular Memphis rapper was shot approximately 22 times in their autopsy findings.
In addition to Smith and Johnson, an arrest warrant has been issued for Shundale Bartnett on charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
