Quavo 'Disappointed' By Saweetie's Public Breakup Announcement: 'You Are Not The Woman I Thought You Were'

Quavo has responded to Saweetie’s public dissolution of their relationship. On Friday (March 19), not long after the Warner Music Group artist confirmed she was “single,” the Migos rapper hit up Twitter in an effort to tell his side of the story. But rather than fire back with vitriol, the 29-year-old Atlanta native wished her adieu on her new chapter.

“I know you want to make this into a show so I’ll play my part just this one time,” he wrote. “I don’t normally put my business out there, especially my personal life. I feel the need to address this so there are no false narratives. I had love for you and disappointed you did all that. You are not the woman I thought you were. I wish you nothing but the best.”

Saweetie replied with a seemingly cold “take care,” immediately drawing comparisons to Future.

Rumors of an impending breakup started circulating on social media earlier this week when fans noticed Saweetie and Quavo were no longer following each other on social media. Many assumed Saweetie’s interview with her ex-boyfriend (and Diddy’s son) Justin Combs for the REVOLT show Respectfully, Justin was at the root of their discourse. During the conversation, the 27-year-old Icy Girl claimed she’d be open to a threesome — if it was with another man.

But her recent tweets paint a different picture. According to Saweetie, it was Quavo’s wandering eye that put an end to their union.

“I’m single,” she wrote. “I’ve endured too much betrayal and hurt behind the scenes for a false narrative to be circulating that degrades my character. Presents don’t band aid scars and the love isn’t real when the intimacy is given to other women. I emotionally checked out a long time ago and have walked away with a deep sense of peace and freedom. Excited for this new chapter of elevation.”

The couple began dating in September 2018 and went took their relationship public during New York Fashion week that same year.
