Jim Jones Trolls Freddie Gibbs By Naming New Album After Scene Of Scuffle
Freddie Gibbs has a reputation for being a troll (ask DJ Akademiks), but the Gary, Indiana native has found himself on the receiving end of the jokes thanks to Jim Jones.
Following reports of the rappers and their respective crews scuffling at the Miami restaurant Prime 112 earlier this week — with Gibbs and his entourage allegedly coming off worse — Jimmy Jones is throwing more punches by naming his new album after the scene of the fight.
That’s according to multi-platinum producer Hitmaka (formerly Yung Berg), who took to Twitter on Thursday (December 16) to announce his and Jones’ forthcoming joint project will be provocatively titled Prime 112. The album was previously called Hotter Than Summer.
“Jim Jones & Hitmaka ALBUM ‘Prime 112,’” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet, before revealing the lineup of guest artists who’ll feature on the project. “Feats – Jeremih, Ty [Dolla $ign], Steff London, Benny The Butcher, Conway [The Machine], Trav, Pleasure P, Ball Greezy, Tink, & A FEW MORE HAVE CANT TALK ABOUT.”

When one of his followers pressed him about “shitting on” Freddie Gibbs with the album title, though, Hitmaka downplayed the beef and claimed there “ain’t 1 diss on the project.”
“No I’m not that’s my n-gga,” he responded. “Don’t none of this shit got anything to do with me AT ALL I’m just making songs and ain’t 1 diss on the project. So let that go.”

Freddie Gibbs and Jim Jones — along with their respective entourages — were reportedly dining at Prime 112 on Tuesday night (December 14) when the two crews bumped into each other. Words were exchanged and a fight broke out. The only footage of the altercation is a blurry, five-second clip that surfaced online.

Despite allegedly coming off second best in the scuffle, Freddie Gibbs was all smiles the following day as he posted a video of himself happily going about his business unscathed. “C’mon baby,” he said in the clip. “It’s me. The rabbit.”
Gibbs and Jones’ beef dates back to at least 2014 when the ESGN rapper claimed the Skull Gang capo was a fake gangster. Roughly a week later, Gibbs was shot at in Brooklyn, New York, but he dismissed notions that Jimmy was behind the hit. “Na I doubt it he too pussy,” Gibbs told the NY Post.

Prime 112 is just one of many projects Jim Jones has in the pipelines. The Harlem capo is currently prepping a new Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama called We Set the Trends, which recently spawned the Migos-assisted title track.
Also on deck are collaborative projects with Zaytoven (Down South Kicking Up Top Game), Scram Jones (The Jones’s) and Maino (as part of their new Lobby Boyz duo).
“This is something I’ve been working on for the whole shutdown, and it’s some real quality work too,” he told HipHopDX earlier this year. “I’m proud.”
